News: Its Official, Xbox Gets GTA 3 and Vice City

GTA III and Vice City on Xbox this Fall!
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 3, 2003--Rockstar Games, the world-renowned publishing division of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO - News), announced today that it plans to ship the award-winning Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City as a "double pack" for both the PlayStation?2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox? video game system from Microsoft. The Grand Theft Auto "double pack" is set to hit shelves in North America on October 22, 2003 for PlayStation?2 and on November 4, 2003 for Xbox.
Developed by Rockstar North, the Grand Theft Auto franchise has long been applauded and praised for its expansive and open-ended gameplay, cinematic scripts, and epic soundtracks. Since its introduction in 1997, the franchise has received countless awards of excellence and universal critical acclaim. WOW. I remember getting gta3 about 2-3 years ago, also getting vice city about a year and a half after that. 3 years of playing this game PS2 owners see it as a long gone fad. Keep holding on to your pitiful x box, while GTA4 comes out for the PS3. It took x box 3 years to match the variety and quality of the games for PS2. Damn im so sorry you xbox owners had to go through that. And where is that Gran Tourismo???????????????????????? HUH?????

The game will have better graphics. I looked at the screenshots and saw that the guy has a fixed face , and actaully has 5 separte fingers on each hand(instead of a paw). And i want to know if anyone know's if this will be on one disc or 2 dics? And also , multiplayer would be cool.

Ok, so some of you are indifferent about this, but think about the amount of new xbox owners that this will create! Sure it would be a LOT more if the pack wasn't being re-released for PS2, so here's hoping that the Xbox version is kick-ass! Could this turn the tables somewhat? I'm going to be watching this closely.

Hopefully the control is fixed, I hated the control scheme on the PS2 version. Also it would be nice to have the graphics cleaned up a bit and some new missions available for download....we'll have to wait to find out about the fine details...

Yeah HeHateMe,good hint it gave it away. I saw the movie warrior. the game sounds like it will be withing the likes of manhunt the game UBI is coming up with this november.
I know or am confident it will be about gangs.what is exciting is if it will be with multiplayer gangs in a big online world battling it out to get to the other side or something.Man thinking about how the game could play out all the scenario is exciiiiiiiiiiiting.

I'm sure Rockstar will be porting the PC version and not the PS2 version due to the simple fact that the code between the PC and Xbox is very similar. Aside of that, now I won't have to here how the PS2 has GTA and Xbox doesn't. This announcement took away their only argument.

Who cares? This is not earth shattering. If this game is just a bland port, I know for one I will not be getting it.
