News: Rockstar Announcement Coming Next Week!

OXM may have missed out on the big news, but that doesn't mean you will! In the company's most recent news letter the makers of GTA promised a major announcement to be made sometime next week!
Presumably this is the long awaited, and rumored XBOX version of Vice City! While a specific date wasn't specified, we'll be sure to keep you posted!

yo, the warriors is a old ass movie made about bronx gangs from the 1980's in case yall aint know, and thats what da game is based on, and i dont know bout x box but i know it will be on da ps2, being a playstation fan im madd happy :)

i had heard from the xbox world magazine that vice city is coming to the xbox at the end of 2004 and could you tell me if theres a neo geo pocket colour for a ?1.00 or less.thank you

soe is state of emergency, and the warriors is a game based on an upcoming movie, and news of the next gta and the warriors were overshadowed by the announcement of gta3/vc coming out on xbox. in the overall report, take2 bought tdk mediactive, announced the warriors for xbox and ps2, and mentioned that the next gta game was coming out in 2004, without mentioning the platform, now rockstar has said the next gta would come out exclusively for ps2, but it doesn't state how long it would be exclusive for, and if you check out take2's financial reports from q2 2003 they already mentioned gta4 is going to be multiplatform(and no the next gta is not gta4)

What is soe.and Warrior.Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.Online multiplayer brawler game where everybody can form go fight with other gangs in the GTA world. Steal cars boats planes.O my goodness I have to get a mop.My drool.
Realistically that sounds like an awsome idea and easy to implement with the current game they have now!

My Sources tell me the Xbox announcement will be a game called The Warriors. Imagine a little of SOE and a little of GTA in one game.

To be honest, I don't think it'll be Vice city. I think it will be something bigger - the next evolution of the GTA world, but under a totally different name and done up for the Xbox. Think about it, they can take the current GTA engine, add loads of bells and whistles, a bit of spit and polish and then build on it, making it bigger and badder - possibly enough to put True Crime in the shade (unless that's a complete duffer which kinda negates my point). Sure, if you strip away everything, you'll find find GTA's innards, but Sony can't take legal action for using the GTA engine.

what about rockstars other big game, Manhunt? Am I the only one who thinks manhunt will be in the announcement too? every other rockstar game out has found a way to xbox, even state of emergency, and all sold well. I dont see an xbox listing for manhunt yet, and i dont see rockstar turning back on the xbox.

Of course Vice City is GTA, why would Rockstar make a video game, name it Vice City, and it not be GTA? It's just a way to get around the legal issues. I still think Sony's gonna try to sue though

I don't believe that OXM missed out on the big announcement.. Because if you read the OXM rumor mole he says and I quote. "I've heard from several people that Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice city is still coming to the xbox this year, but the news has been delayed due to the contract with a super uptight Sony." So if true this is the October issue so while they knew an announcement.. (if this is the announcement) was coming they could not have known it would have been this week cause they had to get the news for this story during the month probably end of july and early August to get this out to it's subscribers on time so they were still probably settling the legal agreement with sony.
But, anyways all round this is Terrific news and GTA 3 and Vice City my spur thousands of additional XBOX sales whenver the title(s) are released esp. assuming it's around hloiday times which it would be if we get it this year.
Help keep the xbox rolling rockstar!

I'm banking on the idea that because their is so much hush hush surrounding a simple port over from a game, that that means this version will have additional features other than improved graphics. Can we say downloadable new missions? co-op multi-playable over Xbox Live? Can't wait to find out the details!!

xbox 365 isn't the only site that does such things, I just hate seeing morons with that first crap. It takes away the integrity of reading comments when you see a list of morons posting stuff without reading the article. If no login feature....at least delete the dam post!

Well I am not a Vice City Fan but have to say this would make a pivital movement into xbox for some/most (dependes souly on your prospective) people. I have talk some people into a point of thinking about getting an Xbox I just hope this move is soon and not like in 2004. That would just be plain out dated then.
