XSN, Soul Calibur 2, My Live, Otogi: Myth of Demons I thought weeks in August were supposed to be BORING!? Whatever happened to game companies starving us poor souls during the summer and then smacking us with the goods once the fall cam around? Man this sucks, my wallets supposed to fatten itself up over the summer not go on the Slim Fast plan! Well at least now the rumors are plentiful, and that?s one thing I don?t mind having too much of, and I know you don?t either!
Carnage is Always Better with a Friend
It?s truly amazing what a well placed demo can do for a game. Sega?s Otogi: Myth of Demons has done far better than anyone expected; but the game does have some glaring flaws. Like the utter lack of anything to do in the game after you finish it accept play the levels again and again!
From Software has recognized this and is even now making amends in Japan with Otogi 2! In addition to the 5 new playable characters, I here From Software is doing something I?m personally drooling over, CO-OP play!
The Hedgehog?s Take- This games hectic enough with just ONE bad-ass immortal samurai on the screen!
In the Skies of Live?
Lucas Arts has quite the case of Live fever it seems! The latest victim of the epidemic, Secret Weapons over Normandy! You can clearly see that lovely little Live logo in the corner of this Boxshot over at Gamestop! I only hope that the game goes all out and incorporates full online play, not just Downloadable content!
The Hedgehog?s Take - With Skies and Secrets both on Live, Oh would I be one happy high flying Hedgehog!
A Resident Port?
Resident Evil is coming to XBOX and it may be here a lot sooner than you think! Our man Cody has tipped me off to some chat about Capcom porting over Resident Evil: Outbreak from the PS2 sometime next year!
The Hedgehog?s Take- Never was much of a RE fan to begin with, so Capcom is gonna have to do a lot better than that, to impress me!
Now That?s What I Call Boarding!
Boy has it been awhile since we had any Halo 2 news, well it?s time to break the silence! Today we?ve got some scant details on the storyline, something that has remained under a pretty extreme lock and key since the game was announced! While I don?t know all the events that lead up to it I do have this to say. Remember that Covenant Cruiser from the E3 trailer, that?s your new ride!
The Hedgehog?s Take- The Chief sure knows how to travel in style; I wonder how many miles to the Gallon a CCS Battle Cruiser gets?!
The Enemy of my Enemy is my Business Partner?
We?ve heard this story before from several different XBOX sources; including myself and OXM?s Mole. This is the first time however that we?ve ever heard it from a Nintendo source; Microsoft and Nintendo are teaming up!
According to the Nintendo Power of Brazil, the two companies are close to hammering out a deal to co-develop their next generation system. Preposterous you say? Maybe not if you look at Nintendo?s recent behavior. No price cut for the Gamecube, a total lack of concern with ever slumping sales, and boasts that Nintendo is hell-bent on taking Sony down? All this would be signs of utter madness on the Big N?s part, unless they were teaming up with Microsoft for the next generation war! Don?t believe me, take a look at the source here on this site, just hope you can comprende en Francais!
The Hedgehog?s Take- Though to be honest, I expect that Nintendo is just plain mad over this, but hey who knows!
Uh now let?s see, take the derivative of 22 carry the 7 and multiply the remainder by 3, AH what?s the use! If my bank account was any smaller I?d have to declare it anorexic! How does Microsoft expect me to afford all their holiday games when I can barely afford to feed myself! Hmm, say anybody wanna buy some autographed Hedgehog memorabilia? No? Well you can?t blame a guy for trying right?

Author: Jimbo :: 2003-09-04 20:03:08 Slap me? Ouch. You really know how to scare a guy.
Author: tirraslea :: 2003-09-04 10:53:23 Will this ever be updated again?
Author: Me :: 2003-09-04 08:38:12 Jimbo: I'm going to slap you in a minute. Grow up and get a life.
Author: jimbo :: 2003-09-02 15:14:32 Congratulations Adults. You are the first to spot my little "mistakes". Apparently the Hedgehog's other readers are just as bad as he is when it comes to that stuff. As for a prize, you win nothing -- because you're obviously a moron as well for not realizing I was just being sarcastic. Another bitch!
Author: Adults of America :: 2003-09-02 15:06:27 Dear Jimbo
"Dear Hedgehog, The (try a lower case 't' here) spelling has been better lately, but the writing and grammer is (try 'are') still crap. Now that you've found someone to check your spelling, please find someone to edit the other stuff. Thanks. Yours Truly, Jimbo
Only a couple grammar/spelling errors my man. Spend a little more time studying, and less time attempting to communicate, you might be taken seriously by someone other than your inflatable girlfriend.
Sincerely,
All adults
Author: jimbo :: 2003-09-02 08:09:11 Who said anything about my feelings? And about being so pissed off all the time...you're the one getting yourself all worked up over a troll. You've just proved once again that you're nothing more than my bitch.
Author: YourMamma :: 2003-09-02 04:46:59 It'd be pretty ironic if MS and the Big N teamed up after MS spending all that money on Rare...
I think this would be a smart move on Nintendo's part. They're losing third party developers, that's how you fail(look at the master system, genesis, dreamcast, etc..) Teaming up with MS would give them more developers than they could imagine. Both MS and Nintendo could also appeal to to the whole age range, not just kids, parents, gamers, but everyone would be able to find something they want to play.
The gap between Sony and everyone else won't go away with the next generation consoles unless something drastic is done, and this would be it.
This would be a sweet rumor to end up being true.
Author: xboxizdope :: 2003-09-02 02:34:53 jimbo, I don't come here every day or so to see what you've said. I come here to post comments, and if your moronic comments spark something I feel a need to comment on myself, then that will happen. Don't think it means I actually care about your geeky feelings. Again I wanna remind the staff at XboxActive the need for these posted comments to be left for members only...members that can be banned like morons that only post negative comments. Maybe if some of these geeks would get laid once a year they wouldn't be so pissed off all the time
Author: Knuckles :: 2003-09-01 21:05:12 Great artical!!! this is one of your best! keep up the good work!
Author: Mintendo :: 2003-09-01 18:16:11 *IF this is true* I suppose neither company will make an official announcement for quite a while as it can cause all sorts of complications. They'll probably wait until the current generation of consoles are on the down-slope and then announce it. Who knows? Maybe it was misinterpreted. Maybe Microsoft are going to buy-out the Big N... I can picture next year's E3: "We're now the official 2nd place console... how do we know for a fact? Simple. We just bought Nintendo and they're going to be Rare's bitches."
Author: xsuicidesn0wmanx :: 2003-09-01 14:25:31 the closer you get to home, the tighter the grip gets. brazil is the farthest from home nintendo can get,and its stranglehold on what info gets out and what info is kept secret is very lax. dont look at where the rumor came from and immediately dismiss it. also, consider both companies are using the same video technology now(ati) and both want to take out sony, maybe it wont be a console together, but who's not to say trading properties isn't out of the question? the cube is desperate for more outside help, and microsoft has a ton of game licenses, and great developers. and how many of us would love to play mario or zelda on our xboxs? Imagine how many parents would flock to xbox to get their kids pokemon live? just a thought, or a dream ;]
Author: Buggalugs :: 2003-09-01 13:12:46 I've looked at that report regarding Nintendo/Microsoft and I've run it through Google's Babel-fish translator jobbie - and it reads as such:
Here the large rumour of the day launched nevertheless by the site Nintendo World (Official Nintendo Magazine of Brazil) which recall had diffused it the first image of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes on GameCube a few months ago, according to Nintendo World, Nintendo is about to sign an agreement with Microsoft to develop a new console together... Without giving more precise details.
My take on this? Don't get too excited. Nintendo has been in this game too long - it's a pedigree and I'm sure it intends to stay like that for a long time to come, as with Microsoft. If there is to be a "console" created between them, then you can pretty much rest assured that it's not the kind of console that's going to take on the next generation models - I guess it will be something for the younger end of the market - maybe something educational. If so, this This "agreement" may be no more than Microsoft giving Nintendo the ok to use Windows CE or something (Dreamcast?). The only other way that I can see the two working on the same machine is if Microsoft completely buys out nintendo. Which, let's face it isn't going to happen is it now? BTW, this came from Nintendo Power in Brazil. Brazil? Does that sound a bit "off" to anyone else?
Author: jacaranda :: 2003-09-01 10:57:03 LOL. "An Obvious Troll" reads like a great title for a really crappy book, maybe with a semi-lucrative movie deal? Something to look forward to, perhaps. Why would Nintendo and Microsoft float such a story first in Nintendo Power Brazil? Is there any possible legitimate reason for that? I say no. Whoever said Nintendo's executives have too much pride for their own good is right. It's still there from the Yamauchi daze, er, days. I would be very surprised if MS and "Big N" go together on a next-next console. However, if it does happen, you read about it here first!
Author: jimbo :: 2003-08-31 22:56:59 It's not going to happen. No way. This rumor may have been reported elsewhere, but that doesn't give any credence to the other bullshit that is posted for you to wank off to. As for me needing a life, I don't think you should be talking -- you're the one sitting here trying to argue with an obvious troll. Which is more pathetic? You've become my bitch -- you're doing exactly what I want you to do.
Author: xboxizdope :: 2003-08-31 21:13:08 jimbo you ignorant moron, the Nintendo-Microsoft deal has been reported from various other sites, as well as coming from the Hedge. So if anyone made it up, it wasn't him. You need to get a life, or a girlfriend, some weed, something, anything, but dam you always sound like you got somethin up ur ass!
Author: jimbo :: 2003-08-31 14:36:06 Dabomb -- I don't come back every week just to read these pathetic articles. I mostly come back to laugh at morons like yourself that think that this shit is good. Give me a break -- the same "rumors" are reported week in and week out. Each week's post is just a rehash of something he's written about before. How many times can you read that Perfect Dark 0 is coming to the XBox and still get a boner about it? I swear he reports that it's getting announced every week. So, next time you sit down to spank your monkey while you read Hedgehog's "news", just remember he makes this shit up. Microsoft and Nintendo making a console together? Ha ha! You people are fools.
Author: alex4445 :: 2003-08-30 23:40:24 it should be called Xbox Cubed.
Author: Dabomb :: 2003-08-30 19:18:59 xsuicidesn0wmanx: nice post, great infos, thanks.
Jimbo: Dumb ass! if you don't like Hedge's articles then don't come back every single week to read them.
Author: truplaya :: 2003-08-30 01:37:22 where do u find these sources. do u have people workin for u or what.
Author: brujo :: 2003-08-30 01:27:44 They both need each other.
Author: xsuicidesn0wmanx :: 2003-08-30 01:25:33 As far as MS and Nin teaming up, I must remind you all that they are Neighbors in Redmond, and they communicate all the time. MS and Nintendo are close, and there is no pride issue, its just business, and if business says money can be made by combining efforts, they'll do it. And as far as MS begging for the GBA games to be completed, that was partly on rare, who weren't too happy with the way they were "dumped" by Nintendo....and ardvark50, MS and Sega did co-develop the Xbox, its called dreamcast. MS didn't look at gaming one day and decide to jump in naked, they suited up, failed once with the sega name, then learned from most of their mistakes and launched on their own with heavy support from....guess who? Yes, Sega!
Author: Rick Fisher :: 2003-08-29 21:29:54 oh and the article says, and i quote...

Author: Rick Fisher :: 2003-08-29 21:27:56 MandN could be an ok thing, if they can agree on things. nintendo and microsofts game plans are really different. sure the games would be great, but Nintendo doesnt think its time for big online, so i dont know if theyd give microsoft the right to Live starfox, MarioKart, and others. And the controller would be pretty messed, Microsoft is about style, Nintendo is about fast response and easy-tap buttons, i like the GCN controller and the Xbox controller, but combining them!? It could be cool, but thats a big Could. thers a big possiblility they wont agree on many things and both could bail the console market, leaving only sony.
Author: HELLSINMAKER :: 2003-08-29 20:24:08 Wohoooooo Residen Evil for XBOX!!!!!!!!!!!
Author: Jimbo :: 2003-08-29 20:10:38 geladio...what the hell do you mean by "band" him? Sounds like an S&M thing...
Author: jimbo :: 2003-08-29 20:08:24 Dear Hedgehog,

Author: HeHateMe :: 2003-08-29 19:58:42 Wait stop the car ! We got a problem can't you see? Nintendo and MS is not teaming up, my good friend "the inside source" say's there is no such deal in the works! In fact it took alot of begging on MS's part just to have Rare continue game development for Nintendo's GBA.
Nintendo may be stupid but they have to much pride in what they do and MS isnt going to change that.
Author: truplaya :: 2003-08-29 10:16:03 as long as the name stay XBOX the everything should be ok. Also imagine if there were xbox games on the GB and GB connectivity to the xbox 2. that would be great.
Author: truplaya :: 2003-08-29 10:13:34 nintendo on xbox would be fuckin awsome. Moms would wanna buy it because of the overdose of "kiddy" games. That would be great with the sales. Also Imagine how many games would have great potential on XBOX live: Mario Kart, Star Fox, Metroid, Mario Party, F-Zero....etc. this would be great. We would have a hell of alot more Platformers to hit the box.
Author: X VIRUS :: 2003-08-29 10:12:54 Microsoft and nintendo probably will team up because both companies have ATI making the graphics chips for their next generation console
Author: geladio :: 2003-08-29 09:06:16 Jackass needs to be "Jacked"... He's like a tick. Someone band him.
Author: Vodoo :: 2003-08-29 09:05:29 I don't want my Xbox hooking up with Nintendo!! Actually, the only thing that could save Nintendo would be Microsoft. As of now it looks like they're a SLOWLY sinking ship. Call it the X-tendo, or X-tender, boing!!
Author: Bumjabber :: 2003-08-29 02:20:01 microsoft and nintendo? Never was a fan of nintendo, never owned any of thier consoles, always was a sega fan. But this could be a good thing. I always thought sega and nintendo should join and take down sorny, they could call it the nintenga, hey, think about it.
Author: ardvark50 :: 2003-08-29 00:38:16 At one point weren't microsoft and sega close to co-developing the original xbox at some point?
