Hello again XBOXActive, once again it?s that time of the week when the Hedgehog invades your brain with explosive inside info. Before we get to this weeks report I?d just like to say that the Hedgehog?s latest work, Faceoff has been met with overwhelming approval. The Hedgehog prides himself on knowing what you guys want, and looks like I guessed right once again. Ah but enough about how wonderful I am, I?ve got some good stuff to tell you and I don?t want to keep you waiting.
The Galaxies Spinning again!
A quick word from a Lucasarts informant of mine has confirmed that development on Star Wars: Galaxies for the XBOX has restarted at last. Production was halted earlier this year to help focus on the PC version. Interestingly enough he made know mention of the PS2 version of this huge MMORPG. Is Galaxies going the way of so many other PC titles and making XBOX its only console home?
The Hedgehog?s Take- Not that the XBOX is necessarily superior to the PS2. Wait, yes it is!
I Command My Candy Corn too?
The Otogi: Myth of Demons demo on this month?s OXM has a lot of XBOX gamers taking a good hard look at From Software for the first time. Well good, because we will definitely be seeing more of this talented developer as From Software?s latest XBOX offering, Thousand Land is going to come stateside as well. The game, a truly bizarre Live RTS title, is due out this Christmas in Japan and is already grabbing many a gamers eye over there. Whether Sega will pick this one up for release over on this side of the ocean is still unknown but I hear that even Microsoft itself might be willing to fork the bill if it means giving the Live enabled XBOX gamers in Japan some more global competition.
The Hedgehog?s Take - Watching trailers of this game always makes me hungry for some Skittles or something, go figure!
My Console for Aiur?
In a blatant attempt to cash in on the Hedgehog?s popularity IGN has been doing its own Rumor reports as of late. Of course the one that?s been getting all the attention is Starcraft: Ghost XBOX Exclusive! Strangely enough I find myself actually agreeing with them, my own sources tell me that Blizzard is scrapping the PS2 and GC versions of the game and going exclusive; and no it wasn?t because of money. Much like Deus Ex and Doom III Blizzard is learning that the only console that can allow them to do what they want to do with their game is the XBOX!
The Hedgehog?s Take- Oh and I hear that Starcraft Ghost isn?t the developers only console game, hmmmmmm!
Did Anybody Feed Red Warrior?
Having seen company?s like Activision, and Ubisoft cash in on this whole XBOX Live thing, Midway now wants in on the money! Oh right they signed that deal with Sony so that their sports titles were Online only on the PS2 for another year, great move there Midway!
Well, there?s more than one type of game to fit on Live and Midway is going to be there in 2004 by any means necessary. To sum all this up before your short attention spans give out, how does Gauntlet Online grab you?

It?s still a little experimental at the moment, but if it works it will go down in the annals of video gaming history! If it doesn?t will look like a bunch of total morons, meh it wouldn?t be the first time!

great article. I read in an interview that blizzard was using bump mapping and real time shadows and lighting in the game. The Xbox is the only system that can do those effects in the hardware. Meaning they would have to reprogram most of the graphics engine to get a similar look on the Gamecube and PS2(although it wont look as good). Doing so would take another 3-9 months of development time. So, its not hard to believe that Blizzard would scrap the other 2 versions and make Starcraft Ghost an Xbox exclusive.
